No doubt you’re all up-to-date with the Sony World Photography Awards, the competition that takes place every year to discover new talent in the world of photography. We know you may not feel ready to enter a world-class competition just yet, so we have a smaller monthly competition for you to enter right here in the community.
August’s theme was ‘Travel’, and we’re delighted to announce our lucky winners who each win a Sony World Photography book and a year's membership to the World Photography Organisation!
September’s theme is ‘Panorama’ – to inspire you, we’ll be bringing you a masterclass by previous Sony World Photography Award finalist Regis Boileau, as well as some new wallpapers in our gallery, so look out for those!
The prizes are a VIP trip for two to the awards ceremony in London next spring, a professional compact Sony NEX-3N camera, stunning SWPA books and a free year’s membership to the World Photography Organisation . To enter the competition, simply upload your photos to the Competition photo gallery. Don’t forget to tag your photo with your country label, as we have separate prizes for each country!

Terms & Conditions:
1. This promotion is open to residents of the UK, France, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Switzerland, Ireland, Nordics, Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain only and must be aged 18 or over.
2. Entrants will need to select the correct label for their country of residence. Entrants who select the wrong country will not be eligible to win.
3. No purchase is necessary to participate in the competition.
4. In order to be eligible to enter the competition you must have a Community profile. If you do not have one, you can register on the site for free (at http://community.sony.co.uk).
5. Members of Sony and their supporting agencies are not allowed to join the competition.
6. Image size should be at least 1.280 pixels on the long boarder. EXIF data must be available.
7. The competition runs from 12:00 (noon) CET on Monday 9th September 2013 and will close on 30th September 2013 at 23:59 CET. No entries will be accepted after 23:59 CET on that date.
8. All submissions must be the user's own work. Please make sure that you’re the image owner and have full rights on the picture. If you take pictures of people please make sure that you have a signed model contract.
9. Pictures will be judged by SWPA finalist Regis Boileau. The winning picture selection will take place on Wednesday 2nd October 2013. The judge’s decision is final. (votes are only a reference and are not the deciding factor)
10. The winner will be notified by email within 2 days of the selection having taken place.
11. If no response to the notification is received from the winner within 72 hours, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner.
12. The prize will be delivered to the winner within 6 weeks after the date of response from the winner.
13. Any taxes payable in relation to the prize will be for the winner to bear.
14. Maximum of one vote per person. No maximum number of competition entries.
15. The prize is not transferable or exchangeable. No cash or credit alternative is available.
16. Should the prize become unavailable for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to provide a substitute, similar prize of approximately equivalent or greater value.
17. By entering the prize draw, participants will be deemed to have accepted and agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
